Pricing & credits

Popcorn runs on credits. Every movie you produce burns a few credits — the more shots, length, and quality, the more credits.

As a rough guide: a 15-second AI-generated video costs about 100 credits. Longer or more elaborate movies cost more; clipping or remixing existing footage usually costs less.

You can either subscribe to a monthly plan (best if you publish regularly) or top up with a one-time credit pack.

Credits are spent on the actual generation work — AI video frames, AI voices, music, lipsync, captions, composition. Costs depend on:

  • Length — 15s costs less than 60s costs less than 5 min.
  • Number of shots — more scenes mean more video and audio generation.
  • Quality tier — Budget < Standard < Pro < Master < Highest.
  • Model — different video models (Kling, Veo, Sora, etc.) have different costs.
  • Reuse — clipping a YouTube video or reusing an existing element is much cheaper than generating new footage.

You can see your live balance and a full transaction history on the Subscriptions page in the web UI.

Two features are gated to Creator tier and above:

  • Channels — define a format once and have Popcorn produce and publish episodes on a schedule. See Channels.
  • Watermark removal — Starter-tier downloads include a small Popcorn watermark. Creator and above export clean.
